The Effect of Cognitive Apprenticeship Strategy on the Achievement of Second Intermediate School Students in Arabic Language and Development of their Deep Understanding

Abstract

The current study aims at finding out "The Effect of cognitive apprenticeship strategy on the achievement of second Intermediate school students in Arabic Language and Development of their Deep Understanding". By testing the following null hypotheses:1.The is no statistically significant difference at the level (0.05) between the mean scores of the students of the experimental group who study according to the Cognitive apprenticeship strategy and the control group who follow the traditional way in the achievement test of Arabic grammar.2.The is no statistically significant difference at the level (0.05) between the mean scores of the students of the experimental group who study according to the Cognitive apprenticeship strategy and the control group who follow the traditional way in testing their deep understanding. The researcher followed the experimental design with partial control and chose Al-Ietimad secondary school randomly among all secondary schools of Babylon Governorate, the experiment is implemented on a sample from the second-intermediate school female students on the first course of (2021-2022) and the experiment took (12) weeks and the first five subjects of the textbook. Two groups of three were chosen randomly for the experiment, the number of the students of the study sample came to(61) students , with (30) student in group (B) which is the control group and (31) students in Group (C) which is the experimental group. The two groups were equivalent by few variables as (intelligence, achievement test scores of the previous year, listening comprehension test), to accomplish the aims of the study, the researcher prepared two tools which are the achievement test and the listening comprehension test and after attaining their validity and reliability, and after completing the experiment they were implemented on the study sample, and to process data statistically, the researcher used the (SPSS), the results showed the following:3.The is a statistically significant difference at the level (0.05) between the mean scores of the students of the experimental group who study according to the Cognitive apprenticeship strategy and the control group who follow the traditional way in the achievement test of Arabic grammar.4.The is a statistically significant difference at the level (0.05) between the mean of the students of the experimental group who study according to the Cognitive apprenticeship strategy and the control group who follow the traditional way in testing their listening comprehension.In light of the results, the researcher recommended using the cognitive apprenticeship strategy to teach Arabic language grammar and suggested to make similar studies for the same strategy with different subjects.
