The Experience of Parliamentary in Iraq in the Royal Age 1924-1958

The historical studies that are concerned with the parliamentary life in Iraq have been the subject of interest for the researchers concerned with the modern history of Iraq because represents the democratic foundation on which the Iraqi state was established in 1921 and because it was the starting-point in forming the legislative state establishments as well as its cooperation with the operational and legal establishments in the state moreover, it deals with the state and the individuals.
The study aims to reveal the process of performing the parliamentary election in the state and knowing the extent of the British interference as well as the interval one of the kingdom and the ministry to elect certain parliaments biased to them and to achieve their interests. Inspite of all these interferences, the Iraqi Government wanted the Iraqi parliamentary life to be a democratic experience generalized to all parts the state so that Iraqis could participate in it in future. The election was intended to take care of the public states conditions in all fields. It allowed the National Movement parliaments to win because it represented an aspect of democracy in parliamentary. It is worth mentioning that this movement was able to force the government to perform a number of modification on the law of electing the parliaments of 1924 including the modification of the election procedure from indirectness to directness which was a national and public requirement.
