Abstract

Coexistence is considered a valuable moral behavior and a sophisticated civilized act to achieve new citizenship in the era of globalization. The Holy Qur’an is clear in its call for peace, non-incitement to violence, and the call for peaceful coexistence. It also calls, in accordance with its ethics and the loftiness of its theories, for coexistence with other religions and coexistence with them, no matter how different they are, because this is the difference between people. It is an inevitable matter decreed by the Creator of people due to a wisdom known to Him, the Almighty. There are elements upon which peaceful coexistence between people is based from the perspective of the Holy Qur’an. This study aims to extract these elements from the noble text according to the inductive and analytical approach. Among the most important components of coexistence that the study found are: human dignity, the principle of difference or pluralism, recognition of the other or acquaintance. Moral concepts are also among the basic foundations and components that the Qur’an emphasizes, such as justice, equality, and forgiveness (tolerance and loyalty). With vows.
There are elements upon which peaceful coexistence is based in the Holy Qur’an, and these elements are consistent and compatible with the humanity of man within himself and with his society. Rather, it remains, because it is consistent with pure nature and sound minds, and it also represents the identity of man in himself and his connections.
Honor is one of the most important components of coexistence in the Holy Qur’an. God Almighty has honored man and entrusted him with two tendencies: an individual tendency to bring good to himself and ward off evil, and to realize himself, and a social tendency to coexist with others.
