Abstract: In this research, we want to approach a concept that is frequently present in patterns of ancient Arabic discourse, and by it we mean "companionship". We saw that this attempt should start from looking at the semantic field of this word in its linguistic field starting from the ancient Arabic cultural space, starting with linguistic dictionaries, turning to the Holy Quran, and stopping at its definition in Sufi terminology... This concept in Arab-Islamic thought, as is known, is formed through the worldly scene and the afterlife scene, so we will look at how this formation is formed by distinguishing between being and feeling to achieve companionship and then exploring how companionship is achieved through worldly gatherings, represented in particular in evening gatherings.
- Both the familiarity associated with being and the familiarity associated with feeling represent an aspect of familiarity in worldly life, although they take different paths. Feeling is associated with being, as a feeling cannot arise or feelings can be formed except with the presence of being that prepares the connection with the other and the closeness to him in order to form familiarity, intimacy and comfort. In contrast, the formation of feeling in the afterlife scene results from being without a being or being with another body, as this feeling of consolation, comfort and reassurance is the result of isolation from society and alienation from people to be a different entity from the entity associated with familiarity in worldly life.
- The value of familiarity emerges in evening gatherings through the achievement of fun, humor and playfulness in addition to some utilitarian values represented by the wisdom and sermons given in the gathering and the news that follows them that is circulated among the attendees of those gatherings.
- The position of storytelling, anecdote and conversation has proven the concepts of familiarity associated with familiarity, reassurance and joy in addition to other concepts related to familiarity such as inquiry, discovery and knowledge. Worldly gatherings are subject to specific rules for achieving companionship. It is, first and foremost, a human relationship that a person establishes with peers who are compatible with him in temperament and desire, as they are brought together by relationships of familiarity, compatibility and comfort, thus achieving reassurance, joy and happiness.
