The field study focused on the image of Iraqi youth on satellite channels as seen by the audience of Baghdad Governorate. The research seeks to achieve a number of goals, including:

1.Identify the nature of the overall image formed among the public of Baghdad Governorate regarding Iraqi youth as a result of exposure to Iraqi satellite channels.

2.Identifying the motives behind the Baghdad Governorate’s audience’s follow-up of Iraqi youth topics on the Iraqi satellite channels that they present through their programmes.

The research is considered descriptive research in terms of type, and the survey method was followed by surveying a sample of the population of Baghdad Governorate in four districts (Al-Karkh, Rusafa, Al-Kadhimiya, and First Sadr City) with (400) males and females using the questionnaire and scale tool, and it was distributed using a simple random sampling method. On the sides of Karkh and Rusafa.

The researcher reached results that can be summarized as follows:

  1. The paragraph “Iraqi youth are interested in providing a living for their families” ranked first in shaping the image of Iraqi youth on Iraqi satellite channels among the public, according to the percentage weight (88.67) and weighted mean (2.66), while it was followed by the paragraph “The Iraqi youth have... Great talents and energies in multiple fields,” with a percentile weight of (81.33) and a weighted mean of (2.44), while “young people are interested in clothes and fashion” came in third place with a percentile weight of (80.33) and a weighted mean of (2.41).
  2. “Helps me form an opinion about youth topics that are being discussed” came at the forefront of the reasons that push the public to follow Iraqi youth topics presented by satellite channels through their programs, as it reached (150) occurrences, and at a rate of (12.19%) of the total audience responses, and was followed by “It has credibility in its treatment of Iraqi youth issues” came in second place, reaching (147) occurrences, with a percentage of (11.94%) of the total audience responses, while “The contents it addresses are consistent with my interests” came in third place, reaching (137) occurrences. (11.13%) of the total audience responses
