Abstract

This research deals with the concept of renewal according to Dr. Sayyed Mustafa Jamal al-Din. This research began by giving a glimpse into the life of the poet Jamal al-Din, and then this research was concerned with explaining his concept of poetry. Poetry is a process of creation and construction based on the poet’s own experience in which the experiences of the group are fused. A combination of thought, language, and music, which defines the identity of its writer while being a catalyst for renewal and revolution against the ordinary, so that talking about his concept of poetry becomes an introduction to talking about his concept of innovation in poetry if it is at the level of the form of the poem. We have shown his commitment to vertical poetry while not rejecting poetry. Harr or ta'feela poetry, except that he does not accept that it is a substitute for old poetry, or at the musical level, as he had innovative opinions aimed at facilitating and facilitating the learner, and in terms of content, innovation for him is innovation in the idea and subject and is not limited to the artistic structure of the poem. Jamal al-Din can be considered one of the giants of modern Najafi poetry and belongs to the school of renewal in poetry alongside other Arab poets such as Muhammad Mahdi al-Jawahiri, Omar Abu Risha, Badawi al-Jabal, Abdullah al-Baradouni, and Ahmad. Al-Waeli. The school of renewal was known for the extensive reform and renewal of ancient poetry by drawing from its source, which infused the spirit of the era into the poem. Jamal al-Din combined originality, novelty, and innovative ideas in his poetry. A scholar, poet, and jurist, he served thought, literature, and science. Despite his coexistence with Iraq's rulers, kings, and influential leaders, he did not praise any of them. Rather, he used much of his poetry to contribute to the good of Iraq and the people of Iraq.          The innovation according to Mustafa Jamal al-Din in poetry is at the level of the new topic that departs from familiar and inherited traditions, as well as the innovation in the formal aspect in terms of poetic seas while preserving originality. Likewise, the innovation according to Mr. Jamal al-Din stems from commitment to the topic.
