Abstract

The issue of American-Sudanese relations is a vital topic, because the two countries have witnessed important internal developments that have reflected on their foreign policy, and this topic has represented a model of relations between countries with international status such as the United States of America, which is represented by the political, economic and military aspects, and another country such as Sudan, which is large in size and underdeveloped compared to it, suffering from political, economic and military problems. Relations.  The United States of America went towards Sudan with many considerations, one of which is fixed and the other variable, and fixed considerations indicated the importance of Sudan as a country with an area of more than (2.5) million kilometers, and the changing considerations, represent the nature of the political system in Sudan, and this study was launched from the premise that the US foreign policy towards Sudan has been affected by the adoption of the military extradition system as a program to govern the state.

     Relations between the two countries under the rule of Jaafar Mohammed Nimeiri began with tension and détente in relations, and then took another turn and were characterized by coolness during the period of the Sudanese democratic government, as the United States of America became preoccupied with its global strategy located within the framework of the Cold War, such as announcing the handover of the province's forehead from its Islamic trends that cross the local borders of Sudan. One of the most important points of controversy with the USA, as it ended the Cold War, the collapse of the Soviet Union, the emergence of the United States as the sole superpower, the new world order with the Sudanese regime with Islamic tendencies shattered, and the hostility gradually became greater between the two countries. The United States of America accused the extradition of a governorate by Sudan of violating the human rights of citizens of the south, the United States accused Sudan of endorsing the political system hostile to the United States of America (Iraq and Iran), and the United States of America classified the supporting international terrorism regime.
