The intellectual impact of Hilla scholars in the book Summary of the Academy of Arts By Ibn al-Futi (d. 723 AH)

Abstract

The research dealt with the production of Hilla scholars in the seventh and eighth centuries AH, according to what was stated in the book (The Council of Arts in the Dictionary of Names and Titles) by the historian Abd al-Razzaq bin Ahmed bin Muhammad al-Sabouni, known as Ibn al-Futi, who was born in Baghdad in the year (642 AH) and who was captured when the Mongols invaded Iraq and was freed from captivity. Sheikh Nasir al-Din al-Tusi.

       He studied wisdom and etiquette with Al-Tusi Al-Tusi. He handed him the monitoring cabinet for about ten years. He returned to Baghdad in the year 679 AH and became the keeper of the books of Al-Mustansiriya.

       He settled in Baghdad until he died in the year 723 AH  Ibn al-Futi was an encyclopedist who met a large number of scholars and learned from them, including the scholars of Hilla Since its founding in the late fifth century AH (495 AH), it has been a station for scholars, writers, and poets, in order to encourage the Mazidi princes to become scholars and writers. After the Mongolian occupation of Iraq in the year 656 AH, Hilla was not exposed to destruction and devastation due to its people’s reconciliation with the Mongols, so it once again became the focus of attention of scholars and writers, and Hilla became one of the most important centers of studies. Mental health in Iraq, in addition to other cognitive sciences.

       Due to the large number of scholars and thinkers who settled in it and the abundance of what they produced and created in various fields of literature, science and knowledge.

       What distinguishes Ibn al-Futi is that he was a writer and poet and had interests in various sciences, according to what was mentioned about his attendance at lesson sessions with various sheikhs and from various specializations in writing a summary of the Academy of Arts in the Dictionary of Titles that our research deals with.

        Hence the importance of the research, as it sheds light on a large number of writers, poets, jurists and various administrative positions.

For administrative jobs in the city of Hilla, the seventh section was devoted to the sector, and the eighth section dealt with hospitals in the city.
