Abstract

  • Time has dual retroactive structure changing from resent to past by using dreams and irony.
  • This structural element controls the character in the collection. Semantically, this reflects the theme of reality mirroring the writer's pessimistic view as his stories echoing the absurdity of life.
  • The emotions of the writer are connected psychologically to the time by the emotions of fear, anxiety, dismay, sadness, and pain which are reflected in the collection by using the words (sunset, winter, darkness, night, and withdrawal). Such words are used heavily in the collection.
