Abstract

The research studied the position and role of the Iraqi government regarding the first Arab-Israeli war in 1948 AD, which was formed after the leap of January 1948 AD. November 1947 AD, and the support provided by the Iraqi government to the Palestinian people in the political, economic and military field. The study dealt with the role of Iraq in standing by the Palestinian Arab people in international organizations, especially the United Nations in defense and support for the Arab-Palestinian position, and also studied the role of Iraq in joint Arab coordination. In the League of Arab States to confront the Jewish projects in Palestine and to take unified Arab decisions in the political, economic and military aspects. The study focused on the Iraqi government’s military position in supporting the Palestinian armed factions with money and weapons and holding multiple meetings in Arab capitals to support the Palestinian factions and the agreement with the Arab League countries To send Arab armies to fight in Palestine, and the study examined the most important reasons that It led to the Sadr government taking the important and historical decision to send Iraqi forces to fight in Palestine alongside the Arab armies against the Israeli army after the establishment of Israel on May 15, 1948 AD. which it liberated from the Jews since its entry into Palestine until the conclusion of the first armistice between the Arabs and the Jews in June 1948 AD.
