Spatial analysis of the reality of distinctive industrial projects in Karbala, according to the classification of the General Directorate of Industrial Development For the years 2018-2019

Abstract

This research included studying the reality of distinguished industrial projects in Karbala governorate according to the classification of the General Directorate for Industrial Development and this classification is recent developed by the General Directorate of Industrial Development to include distinctive industrial projects in terms of quality and economic value and they are distributed according to industry categories in 2018 and 2019 and included the most important industrial projects in Iraq and from Including Karbala Governorate, and the number of distinguished industrial projects in Karbala Governorate (5) were projects out of (71) factories distributed throughout Iraq that fall within this classification. Karbala projects were represented by (Bahr Al Arab Factory for the production of sandwich panels (metal and engineering industries), Zamzam Barakat for polyethylene (chemical industries), Ali Hashem Ropes and Yarn Spinning Factory (textile industries), Iraqi dates manufacturing company {pressing and processing of dates} (food industries)  Al Bina'a Thermistone Factory (Construction Industries)), and these projects are characterized by the expansion of their markets as they did not depend on the local market The province included most of the provinces of Iraq, but it suffered from multiple problems, including the absence of support for the local product by the state, the absence of the application of the law to protect the local product, in addition to the difficulties of introducing raw materials from customs, poor infrastructure, and high energy resource prices, and this necessitated the intervention of the central Iraqi government and governments The local governorates support these distinguished industrial projects, as they are very important for the advancement of the industrial and economic realities of the country Therefore, the study aims to shed light on the reality of the factories included in the classification and the problems they face.
