Abstract

     This study, titled Embellished Titles in Arabic Linguistic Heritage: Al-Suyuti’s Works as a Model, aims to explore the concept of embellished titles, their types, motivations, and the most notable works by Arab scholars characterized by ornate titles. It also highlights Al-Suyuti’s published works that exhibit these types of titles.

The main findings of this research include:

1-The primary purpose of embellishing titles is to market the book to a broader audience. Other purposes include self-promotion and the relationship between authors and rulers or sultans.

2- Al-Suyuti stands out as one of the most prominent scholars who extensively embellished the titles of his works, with this trait being predominant in most of his books.

3- The sheer volume of Al-Suyuti’s works significantly contributed to the prevalence of ornate titles in his books.
