Abstract

Maintaining international peace and security is one of the main goals that international organizations of various kinds seek to achieve, as this goal stems from the goal of the United Nations in saving generations from the scourge of war as stated in the preamble to the Charter of the United Nations. The reason for the existence of the international organization is originally to seek to make the responsibility for maintaining international peace and security concentrated in one authority, namely international organizations, by achieving collective security, rejecting wars and preventing the use of force in international relations, and settling disputes peacefully, as certain organs in the organizations The international mission is to ensure the maintenance of international peace and security.  The Charter of the United Nations has made the maintenance of international peace and security at the forefront of the goals that it seeks to achieve, because it contains key elements that collectively constitute an integrated system for international peace and security, whether through general principles and rules that the Charter seeks to impose and respect, or through The mechanisms established by the Charter of the United Nations with the aim of helping states to overcome the differences arising between them, such as the mandate granted by the Charter to the Security Council to intervene in the event of a situation or aggression whose continuation would constitute a threat to international peace and security. The League of Arab States is one of the oldest regional organizations, as it was established before the United Nations. To the trend towards the United Nations to settle the disputes arising between them, and this was the reason for its failure to achieve the goals for which it was established
