Abstract

This research is a process of collecting and counting a number of words collected through the daily conversations taking place in the Hilla society (the city of Hilla). We wanted to document the colloquial language in the city of Hilla, which is a common language in its colloquial language, so that we can contribute to collecting of the Hilla heritage through this authentic language. And it is an integral part of the slang Iraqi language , that our contribution is a continuation of what was written by those who preceded us in such a collection, research and addition of new linguistic to such researches as the language is in the daily development and renewal of the vocabulary of the colloquial and according to the development of time and its life data. We relied in our research on the process of classifying vocabulary according to the function it performs. The number of vocabulary used in the research may not represent all the vocabulary of the colloquial language, but rather it is a modest contribution to the collection and study process, and this research falls within a series of research that we are working to accomplish in sequence in the process of documenting and detailing the colloquial Iraqi vocabulary, which is a rich linguistic and cultural heritage. These vocabulary may be unnecessary in some of them and essential in others by virtue of the social influences and neighborhood of peoples and the original ones have their historical roots back thousands of years and to ancient and original languages ​​such as Akkadian and Aramaic It falls within the Semitic languages tree, in which the Arabic language constitutes an important branch, from which various dialects branched out. Our folklore, which has this aesthetic characteristic that distinguished it from the surrounding languages ​​spoken Among its Arab neighbors, this dialect, with its beautiful vocabulary, became a prominent feature of the original Iraqi heritage
