Abstract

This study deals with the general conditions in Malaysia in the political, economic and social aspects for the period from (1995-2015), which included major events that the country went through. At that time, Mahathir Mohamad was Prime Minister until 2003, and he worked to draw up an almost unique approach to Malaysia’s renaissance from an agricultural state. One poor country to another became in the ranks of modern and developed countries, through the pioneering development plans and programs that he followed, especially during the economic crisis that struck the countries of Southeast Asia in the years 1997-1998, in addition to his political successes and his unification of the ethnically, religiously and nationally diverse Malaysian society, and after him he came to power. Abdullah Badawi for the period from 2003 until 2009, who followed the path of his predecessor politically, economically and socially, then Prime Minister Najib Tun Abdul Razak from 2009 until 2020. During his presidency, Malaysia was able to take rapid steps towards modernization in various aspects of life.

The tenure of Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad in power is the longest-serving prime minister in Southeast Asia compared to his political contemporaries, which is an indication of the political and economic stability that the country has enjoyed through the use of natural and human resources on the one hand, and the desire of Malaysians for him on the other hand for the great services he has provided to his country. The reform and development of the education system and making it the pillar on which the state relies in its advancement has consequently led to educating the people, and will later bear fruit by transforming Malaysia from a backward agricultural country to a country that occupies a prominent position among emerging countries.
