Abstract

During the period of what is known as the “Arab Spring,” the Islamic (jihadi) movements had a prominent role in igniting the events that led to the collapse and change of many regimes in the Arab world. the rise of these movements, in all their names, had an active and most extreme role in the Arab political scene, which had an impact. It negatively affected the attempts at change that were intended by the regimes of those countries that were supposed to adopt secular, civil thought, these well-funded organizations and movements contributed to assuming power in many of the regions controlled by those movements. Which led to a significant decline in secular thought at the expense of religious political thought in the Arab world, which in turn led to the spread of many political ideas with a religious dimension among many social classes in various Arab countries. according to this vision, we present a fair and apparent criticism of fundamentalist Islamic thought as a model of Arab thought that was distinguished by its criticism of the theses of political Islam according to secular philosophical foundations in which the primacy of reason was adopted as the tool that does not recognize the reference to religious heritage.
