Abstract

The environment is defined as the space and environment in which a person lives and benefits from the material and social resources that exist in that environment. It is known that the natural environment is the result of the interaction of three elements: water, air, and land. This dynamic interaction provides the basic conditions for the continuation of life, and man has relied on natural resources for the continuation of life, transforming It is converted into materials and manufactured goods, causing an increase in the rates of pollution in the quality of these resources, and thus leading to a threat to the lives of humans, animals and plants in the vital environment of Iraq in general and in Baghdad, the capital, in particular. Based on the necessity of developing and exploiting natural resources in a sound and safe manner, it is necessary to Taking into account proper dealing with the environment and developing thoughtful plans in order to work to stop the deterioration occurring in the environment, as the pollution in Baghdad Governorate has affected all elements of the vital environment in which the Iraqi person lives, such as air, water, and soil, which has disturbed the environmental system due to the wrong practices carried out by the person. While carrying out his activities in this environment.

Hence, this study came in order to sound the alarm and raise awareness of the danger facing the environment in Baghdad in particular. It worked to extrapolate the environmental reality from a geographical perspective with the aim of identifying the reality of the environment and identifying methods for treating environmental pollution after identifying the challenges facing this environment.
