Abstract

Tunisia has been known for its political harmony with the United States of America since ancient times, and their relationship has been going on for two hundred years, based on cooperation in all political, military and economic fields. Although Tunisia followed the same policy towards the Palestinian issue in the beginning, it soon changed its position and supported The Palestinian issue, especially after the headquarters of the Palestinian organization was moved to Tunisia due to the war on Lebanon. However, it will not affect the relationship between the two countries. It was necessary to study the position of America and Tunisia on the Palestinian issue through the speech of Habib Bourguiba, the Tunisian president.

Then there is the position of the American states on this project, around which many question marks have been raised, specifically at a critical stage of time on the various political and economic levels at the Arab and global levels. The research also touched on the background of the relations between Bourguiba and the Tunisian Jews, in addition to the diplomatic relations that linked the two countries are at that point in time, and from here came the many question marks about Bourguiba launching his project in the city of Jericho. Based on the content of this speech, which revolves around the idea of accepting the partition decision, as recognized by Bourguiba himself, but conditional on continuing the struggle, making sacrifices, and adopting a guerrilla method, until an agreement is reached that satisfies both parties.
