Attention control and its relationship to mental skills among students of the Open Educational College

“The current research aims to identify the relationship between attention control and mental skills among students of the Open Educational College, according to the gender variable (males - females), and to achieve the objectives of the research, the researcher built a scale for the variable of attention control and adopted a scale (Al-Jubouri, 2018) mental skills and extracted honesty and stability, and applied the research to a sample of (100) male and female students, who were randomly selected from the students of the Open Educational College, and after collecting data and analyzing them statistically, the following statistical methods were used: Pearson's correlation coefficient and the T-test for one sample and the T-test for two independent samples equal in number and the T test for the significance of the correlation coefficient, and the research reached the following results: The students of the Educational College have attention control and have mental skills and there is no statistically significant difference according to the gender variable (males - females), and the results of the research found a high correlation between attention control and mental skills، The study came with recommendations 1- Paying attention to strategies that support selective attention and indicating their importance to the student in increasing his attention control. 2- Directing the professors of the Open Educational College to take care and attention to the mental skills of their students and encourage them to practice them when they are in dire need. And proposals 1- Conducting a study on attention control and its relationship with (psychological pressure, parental treatment, future anxiety, psychological quality) 2- Conducting a study on distinctive mental skills and their relationship .
