For the sake of achieving the  objective of research, the researcher adopted the descriptive  and and analytical approach and in view of that, the research arrived at many findings relating  to reasons some of which are historical and social while others relate to the American occupation and regional and international interventions in addition to the negative role of mass media in an era which was characterized by fragility and failure in the various aspects of life .This has reflected in the decline of the unity of  the national identity:a matter which requires offering a number of solutions and suggestions that could contribute to keeping Iraq off division and disintegration.
