Abstract

The study aimed to identify the role of authentic leadership among the heads of academic departments at King Abdulaziz University in achieving the well-being of faculty members from their point of view, and the study adopted the descriptive analytical approach. A simple random sample of (201) members of the study population was drawn, and a questionnaire was prepared and distributed to the study sample. The study reached a number of results, the most important of which are: that the degree of practicing authentic leadership by heads of academic departments at King Abdulaziz University was high, and that the level of well-being of faculty members at King Abdulaziz University was high, It also found a positive effect of authentic leadership in achieving the well-being of faculty members at King Abdulaziz University. There were differences due to the variable of years of experience, as well as the absence of statistically significant differences in the level of well-being of faculty members at King Abdulaziz University from their point of view due to the variable (educational rank and years of experience), while there were differences due to the gender variable. The study recommends: King Abdulaziz University adopts authentic leadership as an entry point to achieve the well-being of faculty members, due to its positive effects on increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of the university, and improving the quality of career at the university.
