Abstract

In this research, we relied on the link between the Syriac language and the Arabic language, and to highlight the importance of the Syriac language and its stages of development. We point out that in this descriptive historical study of the Syriac language, we adopted two chapters. As well as the reservoirs of the Syriac culture and its most prominent aspects, with an explanation of the relationship between the Arabic language and the Syriac language, the face of cross-pollination between them, and the most important features of the Syriac Arabic language. As for the second chapter, it included a descriptive study of the Syriac language, represented by its Syriac seriousness, compared with the Arabic language, which is represented by its Arabic letters according to the alphabet. In advance, she has to familiarize herself with some of the beautiful and used vocabulary today by the people of the Syriac language, to be familiar with it and to make it more interesting, as we, in previous published research, have mentioned many Aramaic and Syriac words circulating in our Iraqi slang until today, and their roots go back to the Aramaic and Syriac languages. Rather, this indicates the depth of the relationship and the linguistic bond between the Semitic languages until the present time. This research included a table that represents the tree of the Semitic languages, and we decided to put it at the forefront of the research to help the reader understand the hierarchy of these languages and their branches, mainly the branching of the Syriac language from them. Our research also included a conclusion of the research in which we reviewed the most important results derived from the research with a list of margins and scientific sources that were the research tools. It must be noted that we adopted some Arabic sources and some foreign sources and research after translating them to be the mainstay of research. This was a description of what came in the divisions of our research and study of the Syriac language, as it was a historical and descriptive presentation of the Syriac language according to a scientific perspective, according to the scientific sources of history and linguists specialized in this field of science. It must be said that going into such studies must take into account the historical and linguistic aspects together because they constitute two complementary elements to each other
