Abstract

The Al-Fathia sect, which she said was led by Abdullah Al-Aftah, who is the eldest son of Imam Ja`far bin Muhammad Al-Sadiq (peace be upon him), appeared after the death of his brother Isma`il in his father's life. Or from the people of Basra, he is called Abdullah bin Futayh, and some of them said that it was so named because of a disability attributed to Abdullah bin Jaafar al-Sadiq, and he was known by it. But it decreased little by little, for various reasons Among them is that they, any adherents of this sect, examined Abdullah al-Aftah and did not find knowledge with him, and among them that he did not follow up after his death, and among them that they were guided to the true Imam, who is Musa bin Jaafar (peace be upon him), who proved to them that he is the most deserving of the Shiite leadership after his father, after answering the questions that he asked. They used to put it on Imam Al-Khalaf to ensure that he was the most knowledgeable, and one of the most famous of those who adopted the thought of Al-Fathia was Ali bin Al-Hassan bin Fadhal (d. 290 AH / 902 AD), the mawla of Bani Taym Allah bin Tha`labah Kofi, who was described as having a strong memorizer and a selector of hadiths from the trustworthy, as he was described as trustworthy. He was very knowledgeable, extensive in narration and news, well categorized, and he belonged to a family named Banu Faddal who were known for jurisprudence, science and narration And if their inclination to Fatahiyya was clear in their writings, until Imam al-Hasan al-Askari (peace be upon him) warned against them and forbade the adoption of all the narrations of the Faddal family, led by Ali ibn al-Hasan ibn Faddal, as stated in the text on the authority: “...Abu Muhammad al-Hasan Ali, may the blessings of God be upon them both. He was asked about the books of Banu Faddal, and they said: How do we act with their books, and our houses are covered with them? He, may God’s prayers be upon him, said: Take what they narrated and leave what they saw
