Abstract

The current research is concerned with studying the semiotics of the body in the works of the artist Saadi Al-Kaabi, and the aim of the current research included identifying (the semiotics of the body in the works of the artist Saadi Al-Kaabi)( 2020-1973) As for the theoretical framework, it included two sections, the first (contains two axes, the first (the first is the directions of semiotics, and the second is the sign philosophically) and the second (contemporary Iraqi art). The research ended with a number of results and conclusions, the most important of which were: - Results: Through the aforementioned process of analyzing the research sample models, the researcher reached several results, including:Results: 1- The artist used the grating or dense paste technique and the use of sand to achieve a rough or soft texture in the treatment of the body in particular and the painting in general to achieve the semiotics concerned with an aesthetic vision. 2- Color played a major role in expression and balance in the drawings of the artist Saadi Al-Kaabi, as he used earthy colors such as yellow, brown, and greenish-gray in their transparent image that they were inspired by from the desert, or in their dark image and the use of scarlet and blue colors.As for the conclusions: 1- The body formed a cultural and cognitive system in which historical, folkloric and philosophical visions intermingled through the emergence of Arab arts of an individualistic nature that depended on the artist's performance experience.2- The structure of the body criticized the influentia ideological trend as a major factor in the alienation and dispossession that people suffer as a result of wars and migration due to political and religious authority.
