Abstract

The title may have a great meaning in the Arab literary life, as poetry is the Diwan of the Arabs, and therefore it includes the thought of the Arabs towards the other according to the time period and the prevailing doctrinal thought.The relationship of the Arabs with the other is an old relationship that goes back to before Islam, when the Arabs contacted the Persians and the Romans through neighborhood and trade.The image of the other appeared intensely in the poetry of the great poets of the Abbasid era, such as Abu Tammam, al-Mutanabi and al-Buhturi, which is the focus of our research in the study.The study built that the presence of the other among the Arab poets had various manifestations related to the poet's knowledge of the breadth of his culture, and his contemporaneity of the relationship between the Arabs and the other, and based on the development of Arab life, its transparency and its real desire for creative human interaction with the other.And if the image of the other is difficult in the concept of the difference between peoples and peoples in the ancient time, due to the difficulty and hardship of communication and travel, as shown by the travels of Ibn Jubayr, Ibn Battuta and Ibn Fadlan in Arab history, which is in contrast to the modern development and the different and numerous means of communication, where approaches are not among the problems he suffers from.
