Semantic fields of words related to the administration of justice in the book Minhaj al-Baraa fi Sharh Nahj al-Balagha

This research undertakes a study of the words indicating justice, whose connotations are linked to the concept of justice and its forms and representations. The researcher proceeded to extrapolate the texts in which there were words revolving around the axis of justice and justice mentioned in the sermons of Imam Ali (peace be upon him), highlighting them and studying the contexts of these words. And the meanings that emerged from it, the words that emerged for him were: “justice, fairness, counterpart, fairness, arbitration, equality, and uprightness.”
As for our approach, it is represented by referring the word to its linguistic meaning, its abstract origin, and the multiple meanings mentioned in the dictionaries, then arriving at a general, comprehensive meaning that can be hinted at in all the texts mentioned by the dictionary makers, as it is the general meaning or the origin in this linguistic root, with quotation on the meaning. Obtained from a verse from the Holy Qur’an, then citing the texts mentioned in Nahj al-Balagha, that is, the researcher relied in this research on the descriptive analytical-deductive method.
The importance of this topic comes from the fact that the book Nahj al-Balagha is the most important book after the Book of God, and the words of His Prophet (may God bless him and his family and grant them peace). It is a lamp by which we shine and guide our path in life. Any study in this field will undoubtedly address its importance in its field from the standpoint of its importance. What I discussed, and therefore our attempt at the beginning came to study the meaning of the word, as the meaning is revealed on its own, but it requires tracking the word within a coherent system, and the semantic fields show the relationship between the word and the meaning in ancient and modern times and among the people of Arabic lexicographers.
From this standpoint and this importance came the idea of studying this topic, as it results in identifying the most important features of the expressions related to the administration of justice within the book “Minhaj al-Baraa’ in explaining Nahj al-Balagha” under the umbrella of semantic fields at the semantic level of the aforementioned sample.
