Al-Hajib Al-Mansur bin Abi Amer’s Shrewdness in Seizing Power in Al-Andalus

Al-Mansur Muhammad bin Abi Amer is considered among the important historical figures, who had a great impact on the course of events in Andalusian history, especially in the late Umayyad Caliphate in Andalusia. Al-Mu'ayyad in his palace, and he showed great courage in the struggle against the Spanish kingdoms, and it is credited to him that he did not lose any battle he fought against the Spanish Christians, or even those who rebelled against him from within the Arab Islamic state, in addition to building a great city known as Al-Zahira, which was similar in terms of its construction to the famous cities throughout history. And the day of his death was a holiday for the Spaniards, because he had conquered them throughout the period of his tenure as a veil for the Caliph Hisham Al-Mu'ayyad Billah.
Al-Mansur bin Abi Amir did not hesitate to achieve his goal, as he eliminated his competitors by all legitimate and illegitimate means. It seems that the army's love for Al-Mansur bin Abi Amir and their loyalty to him were the reason for his victory on various battlefronts. The weakness of the personality of the new Caliph Hisham Al-Mu'ayyad and his unsuitability for this dangerous position, especially since he was young and busy playing with his peers, contributed greatly to Al-Mansur bin Abi Amir achieving his ambition to reach power.
