Abstract

The continent of Africa is one of the oldest continents in the world, and the second largest in area after Asia, It includes more than a fifth of the land, It possesses enormous human and economic potential and potential, which qualifies its countries for a position radically different from what they are now. As there are many rare and radioactive minerals and energy materials in its interior, these capabilities made African countries the focus of attention of European countries, and the latter deliberately colonized the African continent and exploited it in the most horrific exploitation since the fifteenth century. These colonial countries did not only exploit economic resources, but were accompanied by exploitation of the population and produced This exploitation is the slave trade, which spread widely and all European colonial countries used this trade as they transported them on ships in huge numbers in order to work on farms and other miscellaneous work.                        

This continent includes many countries with different colors, shapes, beliefs and languages, as some of them spoke Arabic and others English and French, in addition to the local language, and their composition differs between black and white, Muslim and Christian. In terms of doctrine and faith, there are those who worship God, and others who worship idols. This social mixture has made Africa in general and the West in particular, part of a vast and beautiful universe colored with the colors of the societal spectrum, and among the countries of the West that we will delve into research are (Senegal, Mali, Mauritania, Ivory Coast, Nigeria).

Two main tribes were selected from each country, and we showed their areas of spread, the origin of their names, their economic, social and ideological status, the languages they speak, and some of their customs and traditions. We showed the first tribes to embrace the Islamic religion. These tribes created their own culture in terms of clothing, housing, music, and dancing. Songs, myths, written language, and architecture, with their intelligence and work, created the cultural heritage of the past centuries
