Abstract

The weakness of the Abbasid Caliphate in the second Abbasid era (232-656 AH) led to the establishment of independent states in the Islamic Mashreq, distinguished by their close relations with them, their help in fighting their enemies, and their struggle to spread Islam in the country beyond the river. The independence of these countries has given them the freedom to have their own system and the fees that they follow in the conduct of their affairs. This research was concerned with a historical study of the fees for receiving messengers and delegations in the Ghaznavid state as a model for the independent Islamic countries of the Levant, addressing it by presentation, analysis, classification and distinction between its rituals and procedures, and the reasons for the sultans’ attention to it, and explaining what each of them means because it expresses the state’s sophistication, prestige, authority and close relations with its surroundings.

The research was divided into an introduction, two chapters and a conclusion. Where the first topic was: the independent states from the Abbasid state, where it addressed the definition of the independent states that were established in the Maghreb and the Islamic Mashreq in the Abbasid era, and the second requirement addressed the emergence of the Ghaznavid state.

As for the second topic: it also included two demands, namely the first requirement: the definition of fees and delegations, and the second requirement: the fees of the Ghaznavid state.

The research concluded with a list of sources and references.
