The role of Khanaqin city in the July 14, 1958 revolution and the revolution's effects on the city

This research is about Khanaqin's Position in the July 14th, 1958 Revolution as it’s remarked as a significant historical event in the history of Iraq.
Khanaqein is one of the ancient cities of southern Kurdistan, as it has been a place for living and was located on the trade road of Khorasan, and the city was considered as an important city, in addition to that had a significant strategic position, that politically had influenced on the different historical stages of the city.
The recent election plays a significant role in the history of Iraq because the revolution was a basic changing in the whole political, economical, society system in Iraq, especially Khanaqin was close to Baghdad.
The research revealed that Khanaqin had a significant role in the revolution, because both brigades (19) and (20)of the Iraqi military carried out the revolution in Jalawla and Mansouryia military bases that has a boarder with Khanaqin towards Baghdad, meanwhile, one of the freedom fighter officer was from Khanaqin, furthermore, the majority of the Mansouryia military base were from Khanaqin.
This research consists of an introduction and two topics, the introduction illuminates the name of Khanaqin and geographical positioning, the first topic talks about the rise of the revolution and the second one elaborates the influence of the revolution on the city.
