This research addresses the disorders affecting Arab political systems, marked by the absence of true democracy and peaceful power transitions. It also examines the imbalances in the Moroccan political system, especially after 2011, which established political and party pluralism in its texts. However, the monarchy has retained its role in controlling the Moroccan political system. Despite constitutional texts suggesting otherwise, the reality shows the king wielding dominant authority over the legislative and judicial branches, as well as the military institution, which plays a decisive role and faces no competition from other Moroccan institutions for political, religious, or social reasons. This has granted the king an aura of sanctity within the state.
The importance of this research lies in addressing the structural imbalances inherent in the political system of the Kingdom of Morocco. This system, even after the 2011 constitution, exhibits a form of near-absolute monarchical control, despite the constitutional provisions guaranteeing multi-party systems and the role of civil society institutions.
The research problem stems from the existence of structural imbalances within the Moroccan political system, stemming from numerous political, social, and religious factors. It examines the constitution's implementation and identifies the most prominent contexts of control within the Moroccan monarchy, particularly the king's absolute power and his refusal to relinquish his authority over a system entrenched over decades and inherited from his predecessors. Therefore, the central research question is: What are the structural imbalances plaguing Arab monarchies?
