This research addresses the problem of explaining the argumentative function which is latent in Qur'anic discourse, especially in Surat Yusuf. It examines how argumentative connections, factors, and ladders direct the argumentative course of discourse, and it aims to explain linguistic argumentative appearances in the surat by analyzing their mechanisms through Ducrot's theory of linguistic argumentation. It considers argumentation as a function that lies in language and is embodied by the linguistic potential, which enables the speaker to direct the receiver to specific argumentative results. This is represented in some verses and evidence in the surat: factors, connections, and ladders, depending on the analyzing linguistic approach by considering the argumentative models, analyzing their structures and functions in the text, and connecting them to Ducrot's critical concept. The conclusion is that Surat Yusuf includes diverse argumentative structures, connections, and ladders contributed in organizing the relationships between the arguments and the result. The interpretive course of discourse is directed towards argumentative results, which exposes the interaction of the linguistic structures with the pragmatic function to produce the signification. This research provides a practical linguistic reading of the argumentation in Surat Yusuf
