This research analyzes the Qomi methodology in distinguishing authentic hadith from weak hadith, as one of the most prominent early critical methodologies in the Shiite hadith heritage. The research aims to explore the intellectual and doctrinal foundations from which the Qomis proceeded, and to trace the developmental stages of their critical methodology across different generations, starting from practical field criticism to foundational theorization. The research also analyzes the precise criteria established by the Qomis for accepting or rejecting a narration, which combined chain-based criteria (continuity of the chain, the narrator's justice and precision), text-based criteria (presenting the hadith to the Qur'an, definitive Sunnah, and reason), and external criteria (fame, practice of companions, multiplicity of chains). The research highlights the distinctive characteristics of the Qomi methodology, most notably: strictness in criticizing narrators, combining chain and text criticism, attention to hadith defects ('ilal), refuting extremists (ghulat) and delegators (mufawwidah), and reliance on original sources. The research also makes a comparison between the Qomi methodology and other hadith methodologies such as the Kufan and Baghdadi schools, and reviews the effects and influences of this methodology in preserving the Imami heritage, establishing the science of narrators (rijal), unifying the scientific methodology of the Shiites, and achieving their scientific independence. The research adopted the historical-analytical method, which combines tracing the historical emergence of the Qomi school and its developmental stages, studying and analyzing original texts and sources, extrapolating the critical opinions of its prominent scholars, and analyzing the intellectual and social contexts surrounding this development, in order to derive the characteristics and results that embody the features of this important scholarly heritage. The research concluded that the Qomi methodology represents a pioneering model in hadith criticism, characterized by comprehensiveness and precision, and played a pivotal role in protecting and preserving the narrative heritage of Imamiyya.
