This research examines deliberative practices in political debates as a mechanism for the evolution of Britain's parliamentary political system. This system operates within a competitive democratic environment—evident across most state institutions, particularly the legislature—which provides a forum for deliberating on public affairs and engaging in the political discussions inherent to such debates.
The British experience demonstrates that parliamentary political debates, conducted through deliberation, constitute a key feature of parliamentary democracy; they have extended the scope of deliberation into new intellectual realms linked to their capacity to exert political influence within the legislative branch.
The research concluded that the British political system utilized parliamentary political debates to consolidate the democratic process, achieving significant outcomes characterized by political stability, legislative maturity, and democratic legitimacy. This research employs an analytical approach to deconstruct the relationship between pragmatics and parliamentary political debates and their impact on the British political system. It also utilizes a functional approach to clarify the mechanisms of political debates within the British legislative institution.
The research comprises an introduction, three main sections, and a conclusion. The first section addresses pragmatics in political debates, the second delves into the details of political and pragmatic debates in Britain, and the third focuses on the British political system and the application of pragmatic political debates.
