Open education and its implications for human resources development - The open educational college as a model-

Abstract

Our current study sheds light on open education and its capabilities to develop human skills and capabilities in the field of education, gain experience, and modify attitudes and behaviors through open education centers represented by the study community, which is the Open College of Education in the Karkh Study Center for the academic year 2024-2025, with a student population of (1290). The researcher used the social survey method to collect and analyze his data, from a sample consisting of (260) individuals of both sexes, represented by fourth-year students in all academic departments affiliated with the college. The study data and information were collected using the questionnaire tool, in addition to observation and participation. After the questionnaire tool was subjected to evaluation and modification by a group of experts in the field of education and human development, the reliability of the questionnaire was taken using the (Test-Retest) method, and its degree reached (0.86), after collecting data from the students, who are the main study sample. The data was unloaded and processed statistically using the statistical package program (SPSS), using percentages in data analysis and the Pearson correlation coefficient. The results of the study showed that those in charge of the Open College are interested in developing the professional, cognitive and educational skills and abilities of students. Based on the results reached by the researcher, he presented a set of recommendations and proposals that would contribute to enhancing the cognitive and behavioral skills of the college's students, which would be reflected in the development of the schools in which the College of Education students work in the future.
