Abstract

This study focuses on the notable styles of the poetry that written in two eras, there isn’t long time between them, the first is that the pre Islamic poetry which highlighted the glorification of the kin and in- laws. Achievements of the Family and clan and noble qualities are praised generously to prove the point of their heritage and clan they belong to. The second is Umayyad era deviates from the practice and love forms the central idea of the poems. Majority of the poems revolve around lover, erotic and passionate descriptions are vividly used. This expressions reflected the innocent, passionate love the poets cherished in their hearts. The idea of this research depends on an article that has been written by dr. Hassan Al- Banna (a translated article), which he got from German oriented Renata Yacobi under the title “ Time and Reality” about Kin and Erotic poetry. She follows a poem’s features that changed during the seventeen century related to Sulaiman Bin Abi Dbacl through comparing it with the pre- Islamic kin’s poetry to reach to a conclusion shows that the Umayyad erotic poet has a relativity vision for place and time while the pre- Islamic kin’s poet has stability vision. Our work in this research is based on tracing the features which were changed and Yacobi has mentioned in her research but more widely so as to include groups of collections of poetry to form the main structure of this research. These collections are: Imr Al- Qais, Zuhair Bin Abi Salma, Jameel Bin Muammar and Omar Bin Abi Rabia. Along with the verses of the ten odes.
