Political recruitment of Kurdish political elites after 2003

Abstract

The process of political recruitment of political elites is one of the most important requirements of the political system، as it is the tool through which true democracy can be established in society through the distribution of important positions in the state at the level of national، party or governmental positions، and the application of a successful political recruitment process in Iraq is one of the necessary and urgent issues، given that Iraq witnessed political instability after the year (2003)، in addition to many political crises and problems that impeded the proper functioning of the political process. Therefore، it is necessary for there to be efficient political elites with the capabilities، political expertise and capabilities that take upon themselves to manage the state. In a way that leads to everyone’s participation in power in an attempt to avoid monopolizing it or dividing it according to personal interests، or perpetuating sectarian and nationalism affiliations and dividing power on its basis by following non-democratic (traditional) mechanisms in distributing jobs and positions، whether it is within the party itself or within the Kurdistan Regional Government or at the federal government level.

Therefore, one of the fundamentals of the success of the political process is to try to make the selection process based on democratic, gradual foundations from the bottom up to reach the best results and achieve economic, social and political progress.
