Place is considered one of the most important elements of literature, as it directly influences meaning, events, and the structure of characters. It is the space, in which the events of literary works—such as novels, short stories, myths, dramas, poems, etc.—take place. Additionally, because it affects various other elements of literary works, it is regarded as an active element.
Myth is a significant form of folklore literature, where in it, place is distinct from other literary genres. This is due to the unique elements of myth, which incorporate a stronger emphasis on imagination and fantasy.
This research is titled "The Representation of Space in the Kurdish Myth (Mandi Tirsnok)", and its content encompasses both theoretical and practical aspects. On the theoretical side, it includes a detailed analysis of the concept of space from a linguistic and definitional perspective, exploring its types and significance in literary works. The practical aspect is dedicated to examining the representation of space within the Kurdish myth (Mandi Tirsnok). Objective of the research: The aim of this research is to pay attention to Kurdish literary works, especially Kurdish legends, which in general have not been much research on this subject.
Research method: The method of (descriptive - analytical) has been used in this research. Research boundaries: The scope of this research has been selected from the literary genres (place) and how the place is reflected in the Kurdish legend (Mande Tarsnok). Structure of the research: In addition to the summary of the research in all three languages (Kurdish, Arabic and English) and the results and list of sources included in the research, this research includes both theoretical and practical aspects. The types, importance and functions of place are discussed, and in practice, which refers to how place is reflected in the Kurdish legend (Mande Tarsnok), in addition to identifying the types of places in that legend.
