Historians' Relations with the Seljuk Sultans in Iraq (447 AD-590 AD/1055-1194 AD)

Human efforts to record past events have a long history, from the moment when they painted hunting stories and daily activities on cave towers and walls, to the discovery of writing and recording information They held Islam for three centuries. Historians' relationship with the Seljuk sultans in Iraq was interactive, based on material and spiritual support from the authorities for historians to write their historical works, and strengthen their legitimacy. some historians may have been directly or indirectly critical of the policies of the Seljuks. On the other hand, it is natural that historians working at the Seljuk court often wrote a narrative that tended to beautify the image of the rulers and improve their legitimacy. This does not mean that it includes all historians, but many historians have written historical works that recorded the events of the Seljuk state in Iraq and played a role in passing on the news of their rule and achievements to later generations. Purpose of the study: This study aims to present and explain the relations between historians and the Seljuk Sultans in Iraq (447 - 590 AD / 1055 - 1194 AD) during their rule.
Importance of the study: The relationship between historians and the Seljuk sultans in Iraq and the details of this relationship is very important, because the role and attention of historians with their rulers and authorities is important and influenced their writings.
Research Methodology: This research followed a historical scientific approach, based on collecting information from different historical sources and then analyzing them to achieve the objectives of the study.
