This study aimed to identify the most prominent theoretical frameworks and models that explain how individuals acquire peace and conflict resolution skills, and to clarify the psychological, social, and educational foundations upon which these theories are based in explaining human behavior. The study stemmed from the importance of cultivating a culture of peace in light of the increasing conflicts and tensions the world is witnessing, which have directly impacted human relations within the family, school, and society. The study adopted a descriptive-analytical approach by reviewing and analyzing several relevant theories, such as social learning theory, behavioral theory, cognitive theory, humanistic theory, and others, as well as some educational and social models that focused on promoting the values of tolerance, cooperation, and dialogue. The study demonstrated that acquiring peace and conflict resolution skills is not solely an innate process, but is influenced by learning processes, socialization, life experiences, and interaction with the surrounding environment. The study also clarified that these theories, despite their differing starting points, agree on emphasizing the importance of dialogue, emotional control, rational thinking, empathy, and positive communication as essential components for building a personality capable of managing conflicts peacefully. The findings indicated that educational institutions, families, and the media play a pivotal role in instilling these skills in individuals from an early age. The study concluded that these theoretical models should be utilized in developing educational and guidance programs aimed at disseminating a culture of peace and enhancing conflict resolution skills, while emphasizing the importance of integrating these skills into educational curricula and school and university activities to contribute to building a more stable and tolerant society.
