Abstract

The primary objective of this study was to explore the psychoanalysis of the relationship between fear and hope regarding the use of AI chatbots among university students. It also aimed to determine the differences in psychological levels of fear and hope based on variables such as (gender, department, academic stage, frequency of use, and purpose of use). The researcher employed a descriptive-correlational methodology. Two scales were used as research instruments: a 14-item fear scale adapted from (Hussein, 1987) and an 18-item hope scale adapted from (Snyder, 1991). The sample consisted of 185 male and female students from the College of Basic Education (stages 1-4), selected using a stratified random sampling method. Statistical tools included (Mean, Standard Deviation, Pearson Correlation Coefficient, Cronbach's Alpha, One-sample T-test, Independent Samples T-test, and One-Way ANOVA) Key Findings:: A negative (inverse) correlation exists between hope and fear in using AI chatbots, No statistically significant differences were found in the psychoanalysis of fear and hope based on (gender, academic stage, or department), Statistically significant differences in fear levels were observed among students with high dependency on AI chatbots, Statistically significant differences in hope levels were observed among students with moderate dependency on AI chatbots, The study concluded with several recommendations and suggestions based on these results.
