Abstract

The names and terms surrounding the concept of time have multiplied, and uncovering its nature and secrets has become the primary concern of humanity. Humans have been preoccupied with it since the beginning of creation, and researchers, thinkers, and writers have delved deeply into its study. It is the secret of life and the secret of humanity from creation to the present day. The question of when time began, how it is measured, how it moves, what are the factors influencing it, and when time ends—all of these questions are raised in studies concerned with time. Throughout the ages, humans have viewed the subject of time as a puzzle, dealing with it in their literature and the like, blaming it for their misfortunes and suffering, as if it were their equal in keeping up with their lives. This is how humans deal with time, almost unaware of its nature. Everything has a time. A story has a time, and work has a temporal beginning and a temporal end. Human life begins with one temporal date and ends with another. The measure of civilizations has a temporal beginning and a temporal end. The times of worship for humans in all religions have temporal times, as do the times for humans to eat, drink, sleep, and wake up. And his going to work is recorded with times that have become subconsciously his day runs according to them, history is time and the present is time and the future has time, we cannot erase this word from our dictionaries and our languages, rather we need a deeper and more meaningful understanding of the meanings that we know about it, and if man knew its nature he would know the truth of the universe, everything has time so this word has had synonyms in literature and holy religious books and stories and novels and the word “era” comes as a strong synonym for the word time and time may be divided into century and era and years and years are divided into seasons and days and the day is divided into morning and noon and afternoon and night and dawn and the day is divided into hours and thus time passes for man without knowing the truth of his existence. The ethereal question remains: What is time? Does time have a beginning and an end? What is the extension of time and when did time begin? How does time move? Can we stop time? These are questions that have puzzled man and his mind, and he began to harmonize with them and began to write in his literature phrases such as time travel, perhaps to reach something of the existential truth of time. From these questions, and like others, we began our research with definitive terms for this topic of time by reviewing dictionaries and lexicons, and what our ancestors wrote about time, perhaps to reach a simple truth that this word began and did not end.
