Abstract

This research sheds light on the relationship of the population with the labor force, the number of working and non-working residents, the reasons for unemployment, and the structure and characteristics of the labor force in terms of its distribution according to economic and professional activities in the city of Zawita for the year 2024. It also discusses family income, the labor sector, and the distribution of the labor force by gender and age. The importance of this study lies in the fact that it is the first to discuss the economic structure in the city of Zawita in such a general and detailed manner. The aim of the research is to identify the size of the working labor force and its professional structure, and how the workforce is distributed across economic activities. The main problem of the research is to what extent there is a difference between the economically active residents and how they are distributed according to economic and professional activities. This research reached several conclusions, the most important of which is the difference between the working and non-working individuals according to the total population of Zawita city, which amounts to (2635) people, where the number of those who work is (635) people, and those who do not work is (2000) people. The majority of non-working people are students, numbering (920), housewives (430), and children (321). In terms of gender, the number of male workers is (518), and the number of female workers is (117). In terms of age, the majority of working people are in the (25 - 44) age group
