This study aimed to identify the level of artificial intelligence use among secondary school students in the learning process. The researcher adopted the descriptive–analytical method to conduct the study. The research population consisted of students in grades 7, 8, and 9 at Zanist Basic School in the district of Said Sadiq, totaling 375 students, including 198 males and 177 females, for the academic year 2025–2026 , the research sample consisted of 103 students, including 53 males and 50 females, who were selected using a simple random sampling method.
The researcher developed a scale to measure artificial intelligence use based on educational literature and previous studies, such as those conducted by Aziz (2010), Al-Jamawi and Qabqoub (2013), and Al-Baskari (2021). The scale consisted of 25 items distributed across three domains: the first domain, self-learning, included 9 items; the second domain, exploration, included 9 items; and the third domain, innovation skills, included 7 items.
To ensure the validity of the scale , the researcher presented the scale to a number of experts and reviewers specializing in educational psychology and teaching methods. After making several modifications, an agreement rate of 93% was obtained. To ensure the reliability of the scale, the researcher used the test–retest method with Pearson’s correlation coefficient, which yielded an overall coefficient of 0.85. This value is considered high and acceptable for this type of scale.
After conducting the necessary statistical analysis of the scale data, the arithmetic mean, standard deviation, relative weight, and appropriate item level were calculated. The results of the study showed that secondary school students in the Said Sadiq district demonstrated a high level of artificial intelligence use in the learning process. In conclusion, the researcher presented a number of recommendations and suggestions.
