Abstract

This research aims to clarify the impact of educational training as part of implementing policies adopted to raise the efficiency of educational staff in Iraq. It highlights how training programs contribute to developing teachers’ professional skills and enhancing their effectiveness in the classroom. The study reviews the current training practices, their impact on teaching methods and classroom management, and the main challenges that limit their success.

Our educational system is experiencing a decline in the pedagogical performance of teaching staff, a situation stemming from a lack of continuous training and the absence of long-term strategic plans for their professional development. Although sporadic training courses exist, they lack sustainability and effective evaluation, and fail to link outcomes to improved classroom performance. Consequently, there is a need to systematically study the impact of pedagogical training on the performance of teaching staff in Iraq, analyze existing gaps, and identify both strengths and weaknesses.

The findings show that educational training plays a significant role in strengthening teachers’ abilities, encouraging the use of modern instructional techniques, and improving overall teaching quality. However, the study also indicates that training programs still require better planning, updated content, and more consistent implementation. The research concludes by emphasizing the need for a comprehensive strategy to improve training systems as a key step toward advancing the quality of education in Iraq.
