Using artificial intelligence technologies to reduce school dropout

Abstract

School dropout is a complex problem and a phenomenon that affects the stability of societies، it continues to rise continuously in Iraq، despite the great efforts to reduce the phenomenon، so the societal need requires the use of the latest methods and tools to neutralize school dropout and improve the quality of education in Iraq. The research aims to identify the most important tools and programs that support the educational environment and contribute to controlling students and reducing the phenomenon of school dropout; on this basis، it tries to answer important questions، most notably، does artificial intelligence provide innovative tools and solutions that contribute to improving the educational environment Are the educational staff equipped to deal with artificial intelligence applications and harness them to serve the educational process ; The research was based on the social survey methodology by the sample Method، Through the use of the questionnaire tool، which was distributed to (110) researchers from the members of the educational، teaching and administrative staff in the schools of Anbar governorate; to identify the preparations of material and human resources for schools in Iraq in dealing with artificial intelligence in the development of the educational process in Iraq.

   The research came to a number of conclusions، the most important of which is that schools do not have sufficient preparations to use intelligence applications and programs ( 87.3%). The application of artificial intelligence to serve the educational process requires a set of needs that should be provided in schools، most notably the provision of the internet and smart systems، with 53.6% of respondents ' opinions. The majority of respondents believe that artificial intelligence attracts students to their classes and reveals their strengths and weaknesses in a way that enables early detection of school dropout by ( 53.6%); that males drop out higher than females by (85.5%)، and that dropout from secondary schools is higher than in primary.
