Abstract

This research examines the sources that mentioned the meter (fa'al) in the Qur’anic statement, and examines their meanings resulting from the significance of the morphological structure and context. It became clear through the journey with this research that the sources that used the meter (fa'al) were not indicative of the absolute event only, as is the case. With the rest of the sources in Arabic, the subject had a share in it, and that significance is taken from the active participle that indicates the meaning and its owner. They have come together in one structure - the absolute event, and the essence - as stated in the words (loud), (tyrant) and (qaraa). These sources have given two meanings: exaggeration and strength in the event, which is a sign indicated by the source, and the entity or what is called ( The owner of the meaning) and it comes from the meter of the subject.

It is noteworthy that the words that were used in this meter were associated with the horrors of the Day of Resurrection or with torment and destruction, and perhaps from here they were used in an active meter; Because the meaning of the infinitive alone does not convey the meaning of destruction, devastation, and destruction unless it includes a subject to whom the action is attributed, and on this basis it came specifically in use with a weight that was not originally assigned to it.
