Abstract

Time remains the most important factor for a person’s life. Time goes with him in all aspects of his life. Whenever time goes with him in his agricultural, commercial, and pastoral operations, it also goes with him in his worship. The calendar is one of the important aspects that has an impact on the religious aspects, by linking The cultural and calendar aspects, which appeared in some religious aspects, such as worship, including Hajj, holidays, banquets, etcr,. As for the religion of the Arabs in the south of the Arabian Peninsula, it was solar. The dispute was over the calendar that the Arabs used before Islam, whether it was solar or lunar. This differed in their religion, so it was a solar or lunar religion. Hajj is considered one of the acts of worship associated with the calendar or the time that appeared in The Arabian Peninsula. There were specific periods of the year in which Hajj was performed during the months of the year and following the crescent moon. Before Islam, the Arabs had nothing but the sky, stars and planets to rely on during the Hajj season. Hajj has a relationship with the calendar, due to its connection to time, and this indicates their awareness of the value of time. Worship is more closely linked to time than other aspects of life, in pre-Islamic societies of the Arabian Peninsula, especially in the absence of a method followed for the calendar from the sun, moon, and stars..
