Language and literature are undoubtedly among the most defining elements of a nation's identity. Language is the most powerful bridge passed down from generation to generation, connecting a society's past with its present. Through this bridge, it becomes possible to access experiences and accumulated knowledge from centuries ago and to appreciate the richness of cultural heritage.
This study focuses on a poetry book that holds an important place in Turkmen literature and was written in Ottoman Turkish. During the process of transcribing the poems into modern Turkish, we encountered various difficulties; however, we managed to overcome these obstacles by making use of Ottoman Turkish dictionaries. We prepared this work as a graduation thesis with the aim of introducing the "İnsanlık Çerçevesi" (The Framework of Humanity), a work of profound meaning, to Turkmen literature and cultural life. The work was written in 1974 by Haşim Reşat Aksu, an educator and poet who grew up in Tuzhurmatu, known as the Land of Martyrs. However, the extremely limited sources available about the poet made it difficult to access biographical information. Looking at the general nature of the poems, it is evident that the content places human beings and life at its center, carrying both educational and social messages.
The thesis consists of an introduction and one main chapter. The introduction addresses the general framework of Iraqi Turkish literature and the significance of Turkmen literature within this field, while the main chapter presents the transcription of the aforementioned work from Ottoman Turkish into modern Turkish.
We extend our deepest gratitude to our beloved mothers and fathers, who stood by us through every difficulty throughout this process and never withheld their material and moral support. We also consider it a duty to convey our sincere appreciation and respect to our esteemed advisor, Lecturer Saad Fethullah, who guided us in the preparation of this thesis and generously shared his knowledge and resources.
