Abstract

This research addresses the topic of social and educational values ​​in the story of the Children of Israel in Surat Al-Baqarah, through an analytical reading of the Qur'anic text and the exploration of its value-related and educational meanings. The Holy Qur'an presents the story of the Children of Israel with an intentional educational approach, not merely as a record of events, but rather as an educational lesson that guides human and social behavior and warns against repeating the negative behaviors prevalent among previous nations. The research results revealed that the social values ​​extracted from the story are: the value of cooperation, the value of solidarity, and the value of justice and equality. Educational values ​​are highlighted in: the value of discipline in implementing God's commands, the value of mockery and procrastination, the value of cruelty, and the value of fear of God Almighty. Benefiting from the lesson and sermon as a tool for educational guidance. The analysis demonstrated that the story of the Children of Israel in Surat Al-Baqarah constitutes an integrated educational framework that integrates behavioral, social, and religious values. It contributes to building an Islamic society based on the values ​​of justice, obedience to God Almighty, and integration, and free from the patterns of fruitless debate and evasiveness in applying the Sharia that have been attributed to the Children of Israel. Therefore, understanding these values ​​is considered a central building block in shaping the Muslim personality.
